Guidelines for capturing headshots

To ensure a smooth and secure assessment experience, please follow these best practices when capturing your headshot, by placing your head and body within the bodyline outline

  1. Face the Camera Directly

  • Look straight into the camera with your full face clearly visible.

  • Avoid side angles or tilted head positions.

  1. Ensure Good Lighting

  • Use natural or bright indoor lighting.

  • Avoid backlighting (e.g., sitting with a window behind you).

  1. Neutral Background

  • Choose a plain, uncluttered background.

  • Avoid distracting elements like posters or moving objects.

  1. No Accessories or Obstructions

  • Remove hats, sunglasses, or masks.

  • Prescription glasses are allowed if they don’t cause glare.

  1. Frame Your Face Properly

  • Your head and shoulders should be fully visible.

  • Keep your face centered in the frame.

  1. Avoid Filters or Enhancements

  • Do not use beauty filters, virtual backgrounds, or editing tools.

  1. Be Alone in the Frame

  • No other people or pets should be visible in the shot.

  1. Maintain a Neutral Expression

  • A natural, relaxed expression is preferred.

  • Avoid exaggerated facial expressions or gestures.

  1. Stable Camera Setup

  • Use a tripod or place your device on a stable surface.

  • Avoid handheld or shaky captures.

  1. Dress Appropriately

  • Wear attire suitable for a formal or academic setting.
