If the image downloads quickly, the candidate’s machine has a stable internet connection; otherwise, refer to Step 2 for the cause of the issue.

  1. If the download takes a long time, kindly share the following explanation with the candidate:

The reason you see a discrepancy is that standard speed tests (like Speedtest.net) are designed to measure your maximum theoretical bandwidth by opening multiple simultaneous connections to a local server.

In contrast, our application measures the real-world performance of a single file transfer between your device and our specific server. Factors such as the physical distance to our server, the single-threaded nature of an image download, and network routing mean that while your 'pipe' is large, the specific 'stream' of data for this task is moving at a different rate. Both results are technically 'correct'—they just measure different things.
